St
Joseph's off to a flyer
Glenelly 2-9
Brackaville 1-7
THE host St Joseph's were glad to get into stride after a first week
postponement and they made a sparkling start in toppling a Brackaville
team that began with a win seven days before.
The Roes made use of the breeze in carving out a 1-7 to 1-2 midway
cushion, Sean McNally raising their green flag plus Ciaran Gervin in
chief, Cahir McGuinness, Conor McStravick and Mickey McGeary all hit
points to boost things further. But the scores dried up thereafter for
Brackaville and the match script altered accordingly.
Glenelly gradually found their feet and a Conal McCullagh major
helped them get a handle on the situation before turning round for the
second 30 minutes of play. Conal McCullagh goaled again and tagged on
two points with the Glenelly revival gathering steam by the minute,
Kieran Kearney and Ruari McConnell among those to supply points and
complete the comeback.
