Junior championship match ends in a draw

Glenelly 1-8 Dungannon 0-11

Glenelly came within a whisker of knocking out former senior kingpins Dungannon in this junior championship tussle at Carrickmore, writes Damien Donnelly.
A rather subdued opening half finished with the St Joseph's in front by 0-6 to 0-3, Cathal Nicholas and Ronan O'Kane doing the bulk of the Glenelly scoring.

Dungannon began to find their feet better in the third quarter, edging ahead as Conan Morgan, Conor McGirr, Aaron Brannigan and Kiefer Morgan found their scoring range.

Glenelly came storming back, however, for a Cathal Nicholas goal that set up a nail-biting conclusion to the exchanges.
Ensuing drama included a Kiefer Morgan penalty thwarted by the woodwork, albeit that McGinn salvaged a point from the rebound. Ruari McConnell had Glenelly ahead late on before Morgan drilled over to set up a second instalment in the near future.
